On June 10, 1977, Al Geiberger made history by becoming the first player to shoot a 59 on the PGA Tour. During the second round of the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic, he carded a bogey-free 13-under-par round featuring 11 birdies and an eagle. Geiberger went on to win the tournament and earned the lasting nickname ‘Mr. 59.’
