 👋 Hey Golf Fans,

To say that Anthony Kim is back on his mission would be an understatement. After vanishing from pro golf for twelve years and struggling through his comeback, Kim secured another year on LIV. Today, we talk about LIV Golf Promotions and what happens next. Meanwhile, the Min Woo and Minjee Lee-hosted event had a wild week, and a KFT rookie is making waves.

Let’s get started…

Return

Anthony Kim definitely didn’t have it in him. The 40-year-old said so himself yesterday at LIV Golf Promotions. But you’d think he was just being humble if you saw him save par after almost falling into the bunker. Or when he smiled as his little daughter ran into his arms after he secured a 2026 LIV Golf spot. Watch the emotional father-daughter moment here.

None of it was easy, though.

Kim struggled early, bogeying the 2nd. He then made two birdies, but dropped a shot on the 10th again. Birdies at the 11th and 16th gave him breathing room so that the bogey at the 18th didn’t matter. He finished two shots ahead of the fourth-place rabble and earned the final spot available for next season.

Similarly, Richard T. Lee, Canada's first LIV player, fired four straight 60s to win the event and pocket $200K. He signed for a 65 yesterday, finishing at 11-under to waltz his way to a five-shot victory. Meanwhile, Bjorn Hellgren blazed a Sunday 64 to end at six under, earning the second wild card.

What’s Next?

Of course, it remains to be seen how these three players fare in the regular season. Chieh-Po Lee, last year’s wild card entrant, finished at 47th, the tail end of Open Zone. Kim, himself, was 55th last season.

Bigger Picture

The trio of pros will join International Series qualifiers Scott Vincent and Yosuke Asaji, forming the quintet of wild-card entrants who will compete independently in all 13 regular-season events this season. Plus, the top 10 finishers (and ties) punched their tickets to the Asian Tour’s International Series events.

Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka’s brother, Chase, walked away empty-handed. As did Andy Ogletree, the HyFlyers member who finished in the Drop Zone, and Ollie Schniederjans (2025 LIV International Series India champion).

Stunners

Chaotic: Connor McKinney owned the week at the Min Woo and Minjee Lee-hosted Webex Players Series. The Aussie notched a wire-to-wire victory over Andrew “Beef” Johnston by four shots to claim his first pro win on home soil. The crowning moment, though, was his ace on Saturday on the par-3 17th. Watch the audacious high draw and the boisterous celebrations below.

The entire week was wild, to put it mildly. We witnessed three albatrosses, including Brady Watt’s incredible 170-yard approach on par-5 6th — from under the trees, no less. Check out the drool-worthy shot here.

Stunning: The Junior Webex Players Series was no less wild. Kortni Houston clinched the title by one stroke after nailing an… yes, albatross! On the par-5 18th, her 7-iron from 169 yards rolled into the hole for this week’s fourth albatross. Don't miss out this one.

Memorable: The Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island is your lid-lifter for the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season. And rookie John Marshall Butler is surging ahead after firing 10-under 62 in his KFT debut, capped by a hole-out eagle on the par-4 17th. But ask Butler his secret? Let your wife be your caddie — for a special reason, as you'll see here.

Movement

While putting, your job is just to roll that ball in the hole. Simple. As long as your wrists stay still. When they don’t, you make three-putts from one foot as this pro golfer did. Here’s an easy way to fix your wrist flexion with the chopsticks drill.

  • Grab two alignment sticks. Now, wrap a rubber band around the bases of the sticks to bind them together. This creates a "chopsticks" effect, hence the name.

  • Slide the rear ends of the joined sticks under your arms. Grip the front end with your wrists and move your hands to get a sense of how your body and arms work in sync.

  • Grip a putter and rest its shaft in the cradle formed by the sticks. Make clean putting strokes without a ball at first. Watch how renowned golf coach Rob Cheney is gripping the club in this tutorial below.

The aim is not zero wrist motion, but minimizing it and keeping it in the right direction. Master this drill first, then move on to the five drills listed below to elevate your game.

Disaster

AI is going to throw quite a big wrench in the whole ecosystem of golf,” so said Bryson DeChambeau after partnering with Qualcomm for his team, Crushers GC. In the real world, for recreational golfers? Well, not as rosy as Bryson sounded. Here’s a visual example of what we mean — check out the ridiculous suggestions AI gave to one golfer.

Now, golf is simple yet complicated. That's its beauty. But the charlatan insists there's one "correct" way to play every hole, one right answer for every mistake. So, you don’t need a virtual golf teacher whose only suggestion for you to stop slicing is… “stop slicing.” On the contrary, per this MIT study, relying too much on AI shows shockingly low cerebral engagement. Meaning, diminishing judgment power.

Ultimately, golfers seeking AI-shortcut advice will only prove harmful.
