Halloween and golf make a perfect pair, and no, it’s not because weekend warriors get spooked whenever they look at their scorecard. Yes, Halloween is (somewhat) the opposite of golf. That’s patience, etiquette, and strict dress codes against … no rules. But that’s exactly why you have Halloween-themed tournaments and fundraisers, like the Halloween Hungover tournament that raises money for Mighty Millie Foundation’s fight against childhood cancer.

It’s also a time when you can actually relax without worrying about your handicap. You can sneak in a couple of rounds of mini golf, too. For the more adventurous among us, we’ve one such course that’s located beneath a funeral home.

Yes, you read that right. Welcome to Ahlgrim Acres, the coolest (and spookiest) mini golf course. Built beneath an actual funeral home, the nine-hole course has become a tourist attraction now. You really need to see it to believe that it actually exists!

So yes, you can jump on the Halloween bandwagon, let your hair down a bit, and defy those daunting, strict dress code rules. It’s probably the only time you’ll feel like a rebel, even if just for a few hours. Plus, with the year winding down, isn’t that a good use of your PTO?

And if you have booked your tee time in a local muni, good luck battling against evil bunkers, murky water hazards, and nearly impenetrable roughs (they tend to get nastier during Halloween week, or so we’ve been told).

Star: At the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, Harvard sophomore Vanessa Zhang topped the individual leaderboard, helping the Crimson to a tied third-place finish at the final event of the fall season.
