👋 Hey Golf Fans,

Annnnd… Matt Fitzpatrick has done it again. For the second time in five weeks, the pro has won on American soil in front of an increasingly aggressive crowd. We look at the many records he set and how he spurred on fans on the 18th. We will also talk about other tournaments, Bryson’s bad week, Max Homa’s club throw, and some more.

Let’s get swinging…

Before we start with today’s edition, let's kick things off with the stories that've been making waves.

Most pros shiver at the thought of playing in front of a crowd inherently against them. But Matt Fitzpatrick has made it an art. As "USA! USA!" chants for Scottie Scheffler swelled through the gallery at the RBC Heritage, Fitzy turned that jeering into fuel for his second title in the last three starts.

After his final putt dropped, he had the guts (which we absolutely dig) to silence the crowd. You would love to watch what Fitzpatrick did right after his victory.

But how we reached here is pretty interesting. Fitzpatrick bogeyed the final hole in regulation after chunking his chip shot, while Scheffler saved par to force a playoff. Back on the 18th, Fitzy played it cool, shaking hands and introducing himself to Scottie as if they were meeting for the first time. Scottie chuckled.

Both went about their business afterward, stripping fairways and landing barely 200 yards from the green. Fitzpatrick flushed his 4-iron that cleared the bunker, scampered past the hole before stopping some 13 ft. away. Scottie’s second shot fell short of the green, but he hit his third to eight feet. Scheffler didn’t need to putt after Fitzy drained his for a birdie.

With this win, Fitzpatrick became

  • The first overseas repeat champ here.

  • Just the 11th pro to capture RBC Heritage multiple times.

  • Fourth Englishman to have multiple wins on the PGA Tour in the same season.

He is also the second multiple winner of 2026 after Chris Gotterup. This victory will vault him to number three in the world, the highest (or lowest? Uh, golf) ranking of his career. Matt’s family came to Harbour Town for vacations during his childhood. Now he has won here twice and made it his… home.

Anger 😡: Max Homa said throwing tantrums on the course makes golfers look spoiled. hours later, on the 15th hole, Homa chucked his club in disgust several yards away after a horrible shot from the sandy native area. Which one landed closer to the fairway, his ball or the club? Check it out below.

Max Homa Does Exactly What He Criticized Sergio Garcia For

Favorite ❤️: Sure, Rickie Fowler has left his, ahem, music career behind, but he’s still a good entertainer. On Thursday, he went left-handed and hit a shot with the back of his clubhead—check out the genius bunker shot here. The next day, he almost made an ace. On Sunday, Fowler, in his trademark Sunday Orange, drained this 78-foot eagle. Entertainer, we said.

Disaster 😱: How bad can someone’s week be? Exhibit A: Bryson DeChambeau complained and complained some more about the course. Exhibit B: his putt lipped out, and Bryson copied what Scottie Scheffler usually does. Final Exhibit: He missed another putt from a short distance. The read was as bad as it could get, and Bryson took forever to recover from the shock. Check it out here. Oh, he also withdrew before the Sunday round—more on that here.

Helpers 🫂: Regular golf balls are 4.267 cm in size with a diameter of 1.68 inches. Little wonder Victor Perez had a hard time finding his ball when it vanished in the rough. So good Samaritans, Jon Rahm, Harold Varner III, and their caddies dove in to hunt the little ghost—check it out here.

Wild 🌳: In the final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship, a coyote was caught resting on the course. Cameras rolled as it stirred, sniffing around, looking for something, and then it found what it was looking for—a microphone. Watch what it did next.

LIV Golf Mexico City: Jon Rahm went bogey-free to ensure a six-stroke victory over David Puig (-15/2nd) and Josele Ballester (-14/3rd). But he was a champion before he actually drained the final putt. Watch the roaring welcome he received while walking toward the 18th green.

A Hero's Welcome For Rahm on the 18th

JM Eagle LA Championship: Hannah Green mounted a massive back-nine charge to erase a six-shot deficit to snag her fourth title of the season. Green and Jin Hee Im tied with 54-hole leader Sei Young Kim at 17-under. On the extra hole, the Aussie made a birdie while Kim and Im settled for par. Green knew she had another title in her hands—just look at the haughty smirk to understand what we mean.

Senior PGA Championship: Trailing by one into the final round, Stewart Cink (-19/1st) went on a rampage, snatching a six-shot victory. He posted a course record (63) to secure his third win this season, and his first major on the senior tour. How solid was Stewart Cink’s game? Let his wife, Lisa, explain.

Tulum Championship: Dylan Menante (-19/1st) went bogey-free on Sunday to set a course record en route to capturing his first Korn Ferry Tour title. His six-shot margin of victory is the season's largest. Here is the winning putt.

Joburg Open: Kirsten Rudgeley, Agathe Laisne, and Casandra Alexander were tied at 19-under, forcing a playoff. Alexander, the home favorite, faltered on the first hole. While Laisne and Rudgeley dueled four more times. With darkness setting in, Laisne made a birdie on the final hole as Rudgeley missed it. Check out how she celebrated her second title of the season.

In case you missed it, just look at the uphill lie Kurt Kitayama cleared yesterday at the RBC Heritage. But shots like that need some strategy and adjustment if you don’t want to struggle with contact and distance. Here’s what Tiger Woods suggests.

  • Evaluate the uneven slope and lip height. Opt for an 8-iron to clear the lip safely without bringing hills into play. Avoid clubs like 7-or 6-iron that reduce loft.

  • Position the ball off your left foot with more weight on your back leg. Tilt your shoulders parallel to the slope and face along it. Aim slightly right to swing up the slope while staying balanced.

  • Hold the clubface off the grass to avoid high-left misses. Feel your right hand getting underneath the ball for maximum height and loft. Watch how Tiger works out this process here.

It’s tough to get as much shaft lean in this shot as you normally would, so bring extra clubs with you. Keep in mind the wind, the distance, and then aim right.
