On February 4, 1912, Byron Nelson was born on his family farm in Texas. He started caddying in 1922 and eventually became a professional golfer with 52 PGA Tour wins. In 1945, Nelson won a record-breaking 11 tournaments in a row. More than his records, however, the five-time major winner is regarded as the founding father of the modern-day golf swing. |
