On March 3, 1920, Julius Nicholas Boros, aka “Moose,” was born in Fairfield, Connecticut. Known for his smooth swing, Boros did not waste any time on either the greens or the fairways. He would "just do it.” In his pro career, “Moose” went on to win 25 titles, including 18 on the PGA Tour. He was also very successful in majors, especially on difficult U.S. Open courses (1952, 1963). His last major win came at the 1968 PGA Championship. Boros passed away in 1994, aged 74.
