👋 Hey Golf Fans,
Good morning! In case you missed our last night’s special bulletin on Tiger Woods’s accident, here is your cue to catch up on it. Today, we are talking about the two different reasons two legends of the game—Tiger and Jack Nicklaus—are hogging the limelight. We’ll also look at the current state of the Texas Children’s Houston Open, a simple putting drill, and more.
Let’s get started…

Before we start with today’s edition, let's kick things off with the stories that've been making waves.
PGA Tour winner tried to channel “Masters Magic.” Guess what he did? Something he says might have gotten him banned.
Jessica Korda isn’t happy with how Tiger Woods’s car crash is garnering all the limelight, and it’s coming at the cost of the LPGA Tour.
Scottie Scheffler’s caddie had to “apologize” for his rude behavior toward a marshal. The veteran looper calls it the most embarrassing moment of his career.

“I have a lot of fight in me, and I am not gonna let this thing win.”
They have just finished the 2nd round. On moving day, anything can happen. The leaderboard can be reshuffled at any time. All that’s true. But one player has already won at Memorial Park: Gary Woodland. Not because of back-to-back brilliant shots like this. But because he didn’t let that thing win.
It matters because Woodland opened up. Because that—Post Traumatic Stress Disorder—was crushing him, making him stop between rounds to cry, hide his tears behind his caddie, and seek the shade his looper gave him.
He would have won in our eyes if he had just made the cut. But in these two days, Woodland did better; he is leading with a 3-shot cushion. If he was impressive with his seven birdies in the first round, he doubled down on it with eight in the second. And it didn’t just happen just as it is. He had to work on it; he switched his iron, changed shafts.
Nicolai Hojgaard jumped 29 spots to make sure he is there if Woodland slips. Surprisingly, so is Jackson Suber, who has never hit two 60s in one event; hell, he hasn’t made more than two cuts this year but is tied with Nicolai. But Gary, you have won because you are fighting a different battle from the rest.
Disappointments: While we have these big wins, we saw many big losses this week as well. Wyndham Clark (maybe it’s time he reconsidered that caddie idea), Rickie Fowler (looks like he’s not getting into the Masters now), Marco Penge (he has been on a roll but not here), and Billy Horschel all headed home.

Have we found the holy grail of hearing aids?

The most natural listening experience ever. In your day-to-day life, that means effortless conversation, wherever you go.

Last week of March. Two Legends. A six-time Masters champion. A five-time Masters winner. Both are in sharp focus. For two totally different reasons.
Yesterday, Tiger Woods rolled over his Land Rover while trying to speed past a truck. Later, he was arrested. Even though a Breathalyzer test didn’t find any trace of alcohol, he was put in jail for this particular reason. For those of you wondering about his health, we’ll let this footage of him right after the car crash answer the question.
What does it spell for the future?
Somewhat answers his chances of teeing off at Augusta this year (highly unlikely).
Looks like he is plotting a return. Time? Anyone’s guess.
Any official statement has yet to come.
Now, to the other legend, who has maintained a cleaner image so far. In case you missed our earlier coverage of the legal saga, you can read all about that here. 20 Majors LLC—led by Nicklaus, TWG Global, and Nicklaus Brown—took control of the Nicklaus Companies. Let's cut through the legal jargon and simplify what it means:
Nicklaus can use that famous Golden Bear logo again.
Current and upcoming golf course designs will come under Nicklaus Companies.
All marketing and licensing of lifestyle products will come under the Jack Nicklaus and Golden Bear brands.
Legacy is what defines a legend. And in this sport, legacy is not just defined by the number of majors and tournament wins.

Between Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, Who Would You Pick for a Dream Twosome? |
Thursday’s Result: 49.45% of you said Scottie Scheffler is not a favorite to win the Masters.

No, you are not four-putting from 10 feet because your putter head is rusty. Or that your footwork is wrong. The crucial thing you are ignoring is this: the putting stroke should follow a 2:1 ratio. What does that mean? Let us explain:
Base: Relax your arms. Let them hang down from your shoulders and grab the club nice and soft. Bend down slightly.
Focus: Great short game players like Hannah Green keep the ratio of backswing to the follow-through the same for long putts and short putts. The backswing should be twice the length of your follow-through. Watch the demonstration below.
Trigger: When you are hitting the ball after a long backswing, don’t decelerate so much that the ball stops before the hole. Similarly, when you have a short swing, don’t compensate for that by hitting too hard on the ball.
Consciously put effort to ingrain this thought in your putting swing. Once it comes naturally to you, find other drills to improve your putting.

Gary Player and his late wife, Vivienne, established the Blair Atholl Pre-Primary School in 1990 on their own property. Three decades later, the school continues to be a source of pride for the nine-time major winner. It has provided underprivileged children with proper education and two meals a day. Recently, Player visited the school—you can watch the wholesome moment here.
Citadel's fundraising event helps the school provide for the children. In the latest round, they raised 2M Rand (roughly $1.16M USD). Blair Atholl was a vision, and Gary Player, 90, is continuing that with help from his friends. Charity is the cornerstone of the sport we all love, and Player’s act is an extension of it beyond the greens.

Named after the small, native evergreen Cherry tree, the 9th hole plays at 460 yards. The par-4 features a green that slopes from back to front. The worst score has been an eight—four players shot it. No one has ever made an ace here.
