Should NBC Prioritize Uninterrupted Live Coverage During Major Championships?
Sam Snead became the oldest golfer to make the cut in a major championship on August 3, 1979, at the PGA Championship. Snead posted rounds of 73 and 71 to make it to the weekend, some forty-two years after making his tournament debut. He was 67 years, 2 months, and 7 days old at that time. He played the event in 1980 and 1981 but withdrew after round one both times.
