A tense, sudden-death playoff between Tiger Woods (USA) and Ernie Els (International) stretched to three holes, but darkness ultimately led captains Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player to share the Cup – the first and only time in the event’s history. Team USA has dominated the event, winning 13 of 15 Presidents Cups, with the sole loss coming in 1998. |
