Horton Smith

On October 15, 1963, Horton Smith, one of golf’s first 'boy wonders,' passed away at the age of 55 from Hodgkin’s disease. In his professional playing career, Smith won 30 PGA Tour events and two Masters titles — the inaugural one in 1934 and again in 1936. He was also undefeated in the Ryder Cup (3-0-1), with his only tie coming against Bill Cox in 1935.
