Tuesday’s Result: 65.87%of said Bryson DeChambeau’s recent win in South Africa makes him a serious Masters contender.

As part of our Masters week countdown, we are looking at all 18 holes of Augusta National. With 12 days to go before the first major, today our focus is on the Golden Bell, the famous 12th hole.

The Golden Bell green nestles into a corner of the course, guarded by Rae's Creek just in front. Picking the right club is challenging, with shifting winds demanding clubs from a six-iron to a nine-iron. Its historical scoring average stands at 3.27 strokes, ranking it fourth in difficulty at the Masters. The 12th hole has never finished below par for the entire field in any tournament. Tom Weiskopf holds the record high of 13 in 1980, after splashing five shots into the creek.

On March 25, 1934, Horton Smith won the first-ever Masters Tournament (then called the Augusta National Invitation Tournament). He shared or held the lead after every round, carding all scores in the 70s [70-72-70-72] for a four-round total of 284. The decisive moment came on the 17th hole, where Smith sank a 20-foot birdie putt to pull ahead. This gave him a one-stroke victory over Craig Wood. Smith returned to win his second Masters in 1936.
