As part of our Masters week countdown, we are looking at all 18 holes of Augusta National. With just one day to go before the first major, today our focus is on Tea Olive, the famous 1st hole.
Named after the evergreen shrub, Tea Olive, the par-4 1st hole stretches to 445 yards and features a slight dogleg on the right. Historically, the opening hole has ranked as the sixth-toughest, with a scoring average of 4.236. Ernie Els’s quintuple bogey is the worst score recorded here, while a double eagle is the best score golfers could manage here.
Leona Maguire (-1/5th) holed out from the fringe on the moving day at the Aramco Championship.
