The Sunday That Nearly Broke Wyndham

We suspect there’s no record of this, but both the champions of last week’s PGA Tour (Wyndham Clark) and Korn Ferry Tour (Yuta Sugiura) won with three back-to-back birdies on the final holes. Have two winners done this in the same week? One will need to contact the circuit for an answer. How does it feel to lose momentum on Sunday? It must feel like ripping off a barely healed scab. But Wyndham Clark (-17/1st) made it sound fun and kept it entertaining. Watch and listen to his thoughts on his own mistakes and how he found quick solutions with his caddie, David Pelekoudas.

Clark opened the day with a five-shot lead, but it shrank when he made the turn after two bogeys and no birdies. On the 11th, playing partner Rory McIlroy (-13/3rd) made a birdie and co-led the tournament briefly. Clark couldn’t add a circle on his scorecard until the 16th.

Wyndham Clark (12⬆️): Sure, Wyndham is a polarizing figure. But he is one of the most consistent players this season with three wins in 2026. A former Masters champion thinks we have yet to see the best of him.

Nelly Korda (-): Nelly played her first event in more than three weeks, and she remains consistent. Even a T23 finish at the CPKC Women’s Open can’t shake her out of the top five on our leaderboard.

Scottie Scheffler (2⬇️): His T12 finish at the BMW Championship drops him two spots. But he still remains one of the top players on the PGA Tour.

Rory McIlroy (4⬆️): Rory called the 17th a “stupid decision,” as you can see here, after missing out on a possible second win of 2026. But a third-place finish is promising.

Jeeno Thitikul (1⬇️): No, she didn’t play this week after her Portland Classic win. But hardly anyone has performed well enough to knock her out of the top five.
