On July 14, 1934, the four-time PGA Tour champion Lee Elder was born. A native of Texas, Lee turned professional in 1959 and became the first black golfer to play the Masters in 1975. Although he never won the Masters, Augusta National honored his legacy by making him an honorary starter in 2021. Lee performed the ceremony with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player and received the loudest cheers out of the three.
