In 2012, the USGA renamed the U.S. Open championship medal in honor of Jack Nicklaus. Starting that year, the Jack Nicklaus Medal, featuring a silhouette of the four-time U.S. Open champion, was awarded to the winner. Eight years later, in 2020, the USGA extended a similar tribute to Mickey Wright, the four-time U.S. Women’s Open champion. The Mickey Wright Medal displays both her name and an image of her iconic swing.
On Saturday at the Cognizant Classic, Danny Walker made this approach shot from the rough for an eagle on the par-4 6th hole.
