Lee Trevino was the defending champion at The Open in 1972. And he hoped he would be treated as such. The fans and media would scream, “The man is back!” But guess what? He had landed at the wrong airport. Instead of Glasgow, he arrived at Prestwick. Finding no one at the airport, a distraught Trevino exclaimed decades later, “(There was) not a soul. Not a person. Nowhere in the airport!”
